Perspex® Frost lights Symposium Hall
Perspex® from Lucite® acrylic sheet has been chosen to create 5 exquisite chandeliers to Illuminate the Royal College of Surgeons Symposium Hall in Edinburgh.
These custom made contemporary chandeliers have been designed to beautifully combine function and form, to give an abundance of diffuse light in the Symposium Hall – a fantastic venue used for conferences and other special events.
The chandeliers have a base made from 12mm thick Perspex® clear sheet, etched in parts to give a frosted appearance to softly diffuse light downwards, together with 5mm thick boxes made from Perspex® Frost in Polar white, which diffuse and direct light up and sideways for a stunning overall effect.
The chandeliers themselves were designed by Mike Stoane Lighting and Benjamin Tindall who were the architects for the project – using the expert fabrication skills of Perspex® fabricators QD Plastics of Glasgow. Mike Stoane Lighting also manufactured the luminaries.
A total of five chandeliers will be installed at the Symposium Hall, with the project due for completion by the end of May.
