Jona Hoad Design use Perspex® to create modular chandelier lighting at Banana Republic

Jona Hoad Design (JHD) specialise in designing and producing high quality, bespoke interior and exterior lighting solutions for luxury hotels, bars, restaurants, yachts, retail and high-end residential applications.
They chose 50mm Perspex® clear acrylic sheet to create spectacular, modular design, chandelier style lighting installations in two flagship stores for fashion retailer Banana Republic in London’s Covent Garden and Oxford Street.
The chandeliers feature precision cut and rebated clear Perspex® acrylic, lit by LED lights in warm white. They are mounted onto tension wire and suspended at different lengths to create a striking visual centrepiece.
The designers chose Perspex acrylic sheet for its excellent optical properties – Perspex® has 92% optical clarity and for the ease with which it can be cut and fabricated.
The modular system allows chandeliers to be created in any length or drop – from 1m to100m, whilst the Perspex® element can either remain clear or can be etched or engraved to create a different appearance.
These qualities mean Perspex® works equally well for JHD’s other designs, including their illuminated hotel room numbers.
