They have recently developed a new road safety product called Light Panel LP500 – a floor level warning sign made using Perspex® S-Lux acrylic sheet, which is used at tram or train level crossings in urban areas. The signs are made from 8mm thick Perspex® S-Lux acrylic sheet panels within stainless steel frames, which are set into the pavement and placed at floor level. The panels are illuminated and flash with a warning sign to alert pedestrians when a tram or train is approaching. Different safety messages can be printed onto the panels to customise the warning. The signs are the same size as a DIN-standard paving slab and can be built into new-build pavements or retro-fit into existing pavements. The signs are extremely robust, watertight and hard wearing; they use LED lighting technology to give excellent visibility even in direct sunlight. The panels can be safely walked on and have an anti-slip coating on the surface. Also have a look at our News and literature.
